Cuban Writer-Director-Producer and AFI Directing alum. Carlos co-founded in 2008 EL CENTRAL Producciones, one of the first independent production companies in Cuba. In 2011, Carlos earned a B.A. in Film and TV from the University of Arts of Cuba. After winning the Central American funding contest CINERGIA, his short film LA ISLA DE CORCHO was selected by film festivals in Cuba and the U.S. Carlos moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and studied screenwriting in the UCLA Extension Writers Program. He was the first Directing Fellow from Cuba at the American Film Institute and graduated in 2018 with the award-winning thesis film RUNNING SHADOW. His first feature film THE LAST RAFTER, streaming on HBO MAX. He is currently working on his second film BORROWED, produced by TONY, EMMY AND PULITZER winners Jim Kierstead and William Fernandez.
